Flavor Guide

Tap a cigar type below to open its own flavor description slide.

Mild Cigars

Best for beginners. Mild cigars are usually smooth, creamy, light, and easy to enjoy without a strong finish.

Medium Cigars

Medium cigars have more flavor while still staying balanced. They may taste like cedar, coffee, toasted nuts, light pepper, or sweet spice.

Full Body Cigars

Full body cigars are stronger, richer, and bold. They are usually best for experienced smokers and can have notes of dark cocoa, espresso, pepper, leather, earth, and deep spice.

Pairings

Pair lighter cigars with coffee, cream, tea, or vanilla flavors. Pair medium cigars with cola, toasted nuts, or caramel. Pair full body cigars with bold coffee, dark chocolate, or smoky flavors.

Wrapper

The wrapper is the outside leaf of the cigar. It affects the look, aroma, texture, and flavor. Lighter wrappers are often smoother and creamier, while darker wrappers can taste sweeter, richer, or bolder.

Binder

The binder is the leaf directly under the wrapper. It holds the filler tobacco together, helps the cigar keep its shape, and supports an even burn and smooth draw.

Filler

The filler is the tobacco inside the cigar. This blend creates most of the cigar’s body, strength, and flavor, such as smooth, spicy, sweet, earthy, or bold notes.

Humidor

A humidor keeps cigars fresh by holding proper moisture. Dry cigars can crack and burn too hot. Overly wet cigars can be hard to light and may not draw correctly.

Cutting

Cutting opens the head of the cigar so air can flow through. A clean cut gives a smoother draw. Do not cut too deep, because the wrapper can unravel.

Lighting

Lighting should be slow and even. Toast the foot first, then gently puff while rotating the cigar. This helps prevent uneven burning and harsh flavor.
